PUPPIES
People always want to look at puppies, and we're no exception. Photos of new litters are usually posted on the Puppy Page when they are about 3 weeks of age. That's when they have their eyes open and begin to "toddle", and that's when, we think, they are just too cute not to start showing 'em off. Watching them grow and seeing how they change from squirmy little white fuzzy slugs into romping, rollicking terriers is the fun part that makes the day to day poop patrol not so awful after all.
We don't always have puppies available, typically one litter a year - sometimes two, we believe in quality rather than quantity. We devote a great deal of time to the physical, mental and emotional development of our pups. We don't let our puppies go to new homes before they are ready to make the adjustment - at about the age of 10 to 12 weeks on average, sometimes later. Their safety and the quality of their lives is more important to us than whether we make or lose a sale. We don't believe in routinely shipping puppies (or any dog, for that matter) unattended either. Of course, we do make exceptions from time to time when great distances are involved - but, not for puppies under 16 weeks of age, it's far too stressful for them. The horror stories of dogs being "lost in transit" and dying alone in their crates, or escaping from their crates and being killed on busy airport highways have become far too frequent. There are better ways to get animals from point A to point B, it just requires a little planning.
