January 1, 2010 marked the advent of the Russell Terrier into the AKC show world.  We have been happy and proud to participate, and to be even a small part of this very exciting step on the path to "full" AKC recognition of our wonderful little breed.

2010 was also the first year that dogs designated as "Miscellaneous" breeds became eligible to earn points toward an official AKC title,  the "Certificate of Merit".

2011 has proven to be another "Banner Year" for AKC Russell Terriers.  At the July meeting of the AKC Board of Directors, the breed became "fully" recognized for inclusion in the Official Stud Books and will transition from Miscellaneous Breeds competition to the "regular classes" and Terrier Group competition at shows beginning June 27, 2012.  Crowe's Nest dogs will be there "with Bells ON!"
